    I especially like the “budget” haiku by Dick Whyte. Very powerful; so true.

    Cheers Seren – yeah, I struggled with that one, because the coldness of the wind is such a cliche in many senses (ie. as a metaphor for emotional discomfort). However, in the end what I was hoping to do was to de-metaphorise the image – in the sense that when you are poor then the wind really is colder (due to not being able to afford heating, insulation in your house, etc.). I wanted to return the wind to the wind.

    Anyway – thanks for the lovely comment – much appreciated. I am also a big fan of Laryalee Fraser’s poem – such a wonderful use of repetition (the eternal return).
