    How utterly depressing! I wasn’t aware of this. Had it been used for a rescue ship perhaps, or something– anything– besides something used to promulgate even more war, more US American expansionism. Nope, no lessons learned here!

    A long time ago, the “US Department of Defense” was actually called the “War Department” — no need for any euphemisms back then.

    I read this yesterday and had the same reaction as you Josh. All that’s needed to complete the terrible Irony is an oil tanker of the same.

    Opportunity lost.

    Thanks for the great comments Terry and Josh- and yes, I was appalled as well when I read this. It seemed like it was a metaphor for the whole problem. Everything recycled into hate and war. More ways to kill eachother. It’s not that I don’t realise what a terrible thing 9/11 was (and is) but this seems so antithetical to the healing process.
